I can't believe we are already at the beginning of 2019 ! I honestly don't know where the time goes. That said, with the beginning of a new year comes fresh, new makeup. If we thought that 2018 had an abundance of new releases then I foresee 2019 to be even crazier. What better way to start this year's blog than doing a run down of what is to come for the year. I just love new products and collections!
If 2018 was the year of the perfect base then 2019 looks like it may be about to blow that one out of the water. Many huge names in beauty are launching their own complexion products and expanding on existing shade ranges. I predict the race for the first brand with 100 shades has already begun.
Brands are gearing us up for 2019 with sneak peeks and spoilers. If you'd like to know what they have in store then follow me...
1. Jeffree Star Cosmetics Foundation, Concealer, Lip Glosses, Setting Powder and Setting Spray
During his "Can't Relate Tour" in the UK in early October Jeffree Star revealed that in 2019 his 4 year old brand would not be slowing down. He confirmed that Jeffree Star Cosmetics would be launching a foundation with a 50 strong shade range. We will also have 'Magic Star' concealers with 30 diverse shades which promise to have a full-coverage, anti-aging, flawless formula and are expected in February 2019. Alongside these we'll also have lip glosses, setting powder and setting spray as well as a new eyeshadow palette due in March 2019.
2. Sample Beauty - Erase & Boost Base
Indie makeup brand Sample Beauty will have lots in store for us this year. Their first release of the year will be the Erase & Boost Base. This will be a concealer base for prepping and priming before applying makeup. The product is due to launch in February 2019.
3. Jeffree Star Cosmetics X Shane Dawson Eyeshadow Palette
This totally deserves it's own spot on the list as I am already predicting this will be THE launch of 2019. Jeffree Star and Shane Dawson discussed during their viral 'The Secret World of Jeffree Star' documentary teaming up together to create a palette. It looks as though we’ll see this idea actually come to fruition. Not only will they be releasing an eyeshadow palette but we will get to see Every. Single. Step. Recorded and made into a new documentary series. The docu-series is expected to include a peek BTS at everything from designing the palette, manufacturing through to launch day. Of course, fans are already predicting the look and theme of the palette. Many are hoping to see a conspiracy themed palette with Shane being renowned for his love of conspiracy theories and the illuminati. Halloween 2019 launch anyone!?
4. Beauty Blender RE-DEW Set and Refresh Spray
Beauty Blender have a refreshing new product for us to get started. Their Re-Dew spray is a hydrating facial mist. Featuring a fine mist nozzle so it won't disturb makeup it can be used to revive dull skin or give a matte foundation a dewier look. It promises to help skin look just as glowing and gorgeous at 8pm as 8am. The Beauty Blender RE-DEW Set and Refresh Spray is expected to launch in January 2019.
5. MAC Cosmetics X Lisa Frank
Lisa Frank is renowned for her colourful and whimsical creations for children in the 80's and 90's. The possibility of her teaming up with MAC Cosmetics is very exciting. I can just imagine products in a spectrum of bright shades and packaging reminiscent of 90's childhood. Although we don't have further details at the moment let's hope they don't keep us waiting too much longer. If the partnership is successful I would expect this to be a Spring/Summer 2019 release.
6. Jennifer Lopez Skin Care Line
J-Lo aka the queen of the glow has confirmed she will be launching her own stand-alone skincare line. She is no stranger to the beauty industry after successfully releasing 20+ fragrances plus a collaboration with Inglot she is now working on her own skincare company. Talking to Refinery29 J-Lo promised 'It's going to be something that works, that's what you can count on when my name is on something. 'I want it to be something that encompasses all the things I’ve learned and all the secrets I have,' she went on to say. 'And it doesn’t have anything to do with needles.' J-Lo's skincare is expected to launch in late 2019.
7. Revolution Parfum London
Drugstore favourite Makeup Revolution will see a further brand extension in 2019 with the launch of fragrances under the name Revolution Parfum London. These fragrances are expected to be affordable alternatives for premium products such as Tom Ford.
8. Smashbox Cosmetics X The Hoodwitch
The Hoodwitch is a 'modern mystic' who is no stranger to collabs. They already have a nail polish collection launched with Floss Gloss under their belt. According to an unofficial, leaked photo which has been circulating the internet it looks as though we will see Smashbox Cosmetics X Hoodwitch collection launching in 2019. The photo pictures a gorgeous duo-chrome highlighter in the shade Opti-Mystic.
9. Haus Beauty by Lady Gaga
After previously teaming up with MAC Cosmetics for Viva Glam in 2009 and 2011 it looks like Gaga is ready to hit the beauty world on her own and is making 2019 her year. Gaga filed the trademark back in May 2018 for 'Haus Beauty' and the brand recently secured it's web space on the world wide web: hausbeauty.com. Is Gaga about to pull the Fenty of 2019? My prediction is yes and we'll see Haus Beauty launch in late 2019.
10. Urban Decay Naked Reloaded Eyeshadow Palette
In 2018 we saw Urban Decay say farewell to their iconic original Naked eyeshadow palette. Many fans agreed it was time to say goodbye to the cult classic. In 2019 Urban Decay will launch the revival of their 'Naked Revolution' with the Naked Reloaded eyeshadow palette. It contains 12 must-have nudes from soft mattes and satins to dimensional sparkle and metallic shimmer. Urban Decay Naked Reloaded is expected to launch in early 2019.
11. NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop Concealer, Setting Powder & Powder Foundation
In addition to their much loved Can't Stop Won't Stop foundation NYX are extending the line with a concealer, setting powder and powder foundation. The Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Contour Concealer has a lightweight formula with a matte finish and will be available in 24 shades. The Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Setting Powder will be available in 6 shades which promises to have a featherlight formula which absorbs oil while leaving your complexion with a smooth, matte finish. Lastly, there is the Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Full Coverage Powder Foundation. This is a pressed powder that delivers a velvety-matte finish which keeps skin flawlessly covered without caking up or weighing it down.
The The Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Contour Concealer is due to launch later this month in the UK and will be priced £8. The setting powder and pressed powder are newer additions and I would expect these in early spring 2019 if not sooner.
12. Fenty Pro Filt’r Concealer
In case you hadn't already heard Fenty are launching their debut concealer. The Pro Filt’r Concealer will be available in no less than 50 shades corresponding with their ground breaking foundation. The formula is said to be creamy, creaseproof and longwear which dries down to a matte finish. Alongside these will also launch an additional 10 shades of Pro Filt’r foundation, 8 setting powders and new brushes. All will launch globally on 11 January 2019 HERE.
13. NARS Spring 2019 Colour Collection
NARS have a huge year planned but for spring they have created the unique Mosaic Glow Palette. This features blusher, highlighter and bronzer that can be used individually or swirled together. There will also be a single, universal shade of After Glow Lip Balm. To brighten up any look they are also releasing a Mono eyeshadow in a vivid, fresh green hue. Climax mascara fans will also be happy to note that their favourite mascara will come in a new deluxe, travel size just in time for summer holiday season. All is expected to launch globally in February 2019.
14. The Ordinary Matte Watercolour Pore Minimizing Foundation
This year we will see the Ordinary make a comeback with many new products. One of the most hotly anticipated will be their Matte Watercolour Pore Minimizing Foundation. What's exciting about yet another foundation? Well, it's said to be thinner than actual water, both oil and silicone-free with a pore minimizing effect and a matte finish all whilst being very budget friendly. The coverage is also said to be medium to full which for something that is thinner than water sounds impressive! Launch in the UK is expected to be Spring/Summer 2019.
15. Morphe Fluidity Collection
Morphe are launching their debut complexion products and it's liquid foundation has one of the biggest initial shade ranges the industry has ever seen. Born in no less than 60 shades the Fluidity Full Coverage Foundation is also purse friendly at £16. It promises to be 24-hour transfer- and water-resistant wear for all skin types with a full coverage and matte finish. Other products included in the Fluidity Collection are the Fluidity Concealer, 2 primers and a finishing powder.
The Morphe Fluidity Collection launches globally on the 17 January 2019.
